Hot damn has it been a while since I've updated this thing. Armaan has gone through several (relatively painless) face lifts since the Fall, and now he's in the hands of several talented individuals while his dad awaits potentially brutal notes.
I suppose waiting is an inevitable thing with this while process of being read and getting notes, and I'd better get used to it. I'm at work right now, where the activity flows like molasses, so it's not as if I don't have time to be productive. Anyway, some of the updates to this latest draft include:
-The four cousins! Well, more like three sisters. But they ended up being really helpful in putting part of act 3 in motion. And I was able to all give them a unique identity (they're triplets) in one scene.
-The office now has a full-blown staff. I don't really know if they existed in the fall, but they do now, and thank God for them because so much was added to the script. They feel like real people that I want to thank and acknowledge for a life saving contribution, not the least of which is a guys' night scene that I love.
-Makhan Singh. Makhan is Hindi for butter, and I decided to replace arbitrary countryside yokel with turbaned Punjabi man/millionaire. He's the key to the last scene of the whole thing, and because of him, I have an ending to feel proud of.
These are just a few of the changes that were made. The notes I got from Professor Abrams were mostly positive and really encouraging. Now I'm just waiting for the next round of notes. I should really jump-start LET'S MISBEHAVE in the meantime, which is in great need of a new title and a suitable act 2. And a new ending. Boy, there's a task right there. I figure at the very least it will be a good spec script to send out to show I can do more than Armaan flavored scripts.
